Our conformance claim

We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA across every page at tridentpicks.com. That target is self-assessed: we test as we build, but no independent auditor has certified the site, so we are claiming an honest standard rather than a badge. Where we know we do not meet it, it is listed below rather than left for you to discover.

What is built in

• Keyboard access throughout. Every control can be reached and operated from a keyboard, in the order the page reads. A “Skip to content” link is the first thing you reach on every page, so the navigation is not something you tab through each time.
• A visible focus indicator that never disappears. One treatment site-wide, in a colour that clears the 3:1 contrast the guidelines ask for against the page behind it. We do not remove focus rings for aesthetics.
• Contrast we checked rather than guessed. Body text, labels and interactive boundaries are all measured against their real backgrounds. The faint dividers you can see between sections are decorative and are never the only thing marking the edge of a control.
• Real labels on every field. No form uses a placeholder in place of a label, so a half-filled form still tells you what each box was for. Errors are announced, tied to the field they belong to and written in words rather than codes.
• Motion that respects your settings. If your device asks for reduced motion, animation and smooth scrolling stop. Nothing on the site moves for longer than five seconds on its own or flashes.
• Written alt text on product photography. Alt text is authored per image, not generated from a filename, and describes what the photograph actually shows.
• Text that reflows. Pages work at 400% zoom and on a narrow screen without a horizontal scrollbar, and text can be resized without losing content.

Where we know we fall short

• The 3D pick viewer. It is a visual aid, and it is the one place on the site where information arrives through a canvas. Everything it shows, the three-point geometry, the material, the thickness, is also on the page as photography with alt text and as a written specification, so no fact about a product is only available inside it. If you find a page where that is not true, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
• JavaScript is required to check out. The cart and the contact form need it. If you cannot use them for any reason, email orders@tridentpicks.com with what you want and we will take the order by hand, at the same price and the same shipping rate.
• We have not had an external audit. It is on the list. Until it happens, this page is a self-assessment and your report of a problem is worth more to us than our own testing.

Telling us something is wrong

Email support@tridentpicks.com. Say what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way: the browser, screen reader or assistive technology you use helps but is not required.

We answer accessibility reports within five business days. That reply is a person telling you whether we can fix it and when, not an acknowledgement receipt. If something blocks you from ordering, tell us in the same email and we will complete the purchase for you while the fix is being made.
